Health ProtocolsThe Small Museum Association is committed to protecting all attendees and conference hotel staff during the ongoing health crisis. The following health protocols were developed primarily based on responses to an August survey of the membership.

Proof of Vaccination / Negative COVID testAll attendees must provide proof that they are or will be fully vaccinated per current CDC guidelines by the start of the conference or provide documentation of a negative COIVD test within 72 hours before the start of the conference. Documentation must be submitted online before arrival at the conference, and information about how to provide documentation will be included with registration confirmations.
Click here to submit your documentation.
Masks Required at All TimesAll attendees must wear face coverings that cover the nose and mouth and fit tightly to the face at all times, except when eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status. Neck gaiters, bandanas, masks with exhalation valves, or clear shield-like face masks are not permitted to be worn as face coverings.
Digital Conference ProgramAttendees are encouraged to utilize our digital conference program, which will be available on the web and as a mobile app. Information about how to access the digital program will be emailed to registrants before the conference.

Social DistancingAttendance in breakout sessions may be limited, and attendees are encouraged to indicate their plan to attend breakout sessions within the digital program. Social distancing during meals is a priority, and more information will be available about this as soon as possible.
Boxed MealsIn an effort to provide flexible options for a variety of comfort levels, all included meals at the conference will be grab and go to allow attendees to enjoy their meals where they are most comfortable.
The Saturday night banquet (add-on) will not be boxed, but additional safety measures will be in place, including changing how the meal will be served and spacing out attendees.
Sanitization and Environmental SystemsThe conference hotel has hand sanitizer stations available, and staff sanitize high touch areas regularly. The hotel also has HVAC systems that provide optimal air exchange as well as filtration and sanitization of air in event spaces and public areas. Find out more on their website.
